About Me
Chris Jones is a scripted producer, with a passion for comedy and sitcom.
Growing up as part of a Liverpudlian family in suburban 1990s Northampton, Chris developed a passion for storytelling, and loved sitcoms from an early age - including naming his guinea pig Hyacinth…
He started his career working in production as a freelancer on some of the UK’s biggest scripted comedies such as The IT Crowd (Channel 4), PhoneShop (Channel 4), Detectorists (BBC), Birds of a Feather (ITV), People Just Do Nothing (BBC) and Motherland (BBC) before moving in-house at Hat Trick as a development producer.
While at Hat Trick, Chris has developed and produced the “weird” and “stupid” sitcom, Smoggie Queens (BBC) with writer Phil Dunning, alongside producing series 2 of Kate & Koji (ITV) starring Brenda Blethyn, scripted comedy podcast Whistle Through The Shamrocks written by Nicola Coughlan and Camilla Whitehill, and translating popular comedy act Diane Chorley to podcast chat show form.
Chris has previously written for Radio Times, Attitude and GQ, and had a monthly column in Gay Times Magazine.
